When I first started this blog, I envisioned it as a place to share tips and tricks for living a simpler life filled with adventure.  I never intended to use it as a way to promote other brands or to earn an income.  For this reason, over the past few years of blogging I have always veered away from affiliate relationships with companies that have reached out.  I don’t feel right promoting a product that I myself am not already using and enjoying.

Finding True Honey Teas

So how did I originally find these teas?  Back in 2019, my boyfriend, Michael, and I went to an arts festival in Albuquerque, NM while visiting the annual Balloon Fiesta.  I had seen a post from another couple on one of the RVer Facebook pages about free passes to get in.  After we messaged back and forth, I let them know we would be at the show that afternoon, and they would meet us outside with the passes.

When we arrived at the festival, I messaged the couple.  John came out to meet us and hand us the passes.  We started talking and that’s when I learned that John and his wife, Lindsay, live on the road full-time and sell True Honey Teas as well as run a podcast, The Great American Tea Tour.  We could have talked for sometime, but John mentioned he had to run back and man the booth with Lindsay since the show was busy.  Michael and I promised to stop by and see them.

After browsing the show and seeing some amazing artisan work, we found the food tent and headed over to John and Lindsay’s booth.  When we approached the booth, the True Honey Teas were spread out across the table, each with its own pot from which you could sample.  I started talking with John and Lindsay since I did not like tea, and Michael tasted a few of the samples.  He walked over to me with the Green Ginger tea and said I should try it.  Even I may like it.

After giving Michael the look indicating I really didn’t want to try tea but would humor him, I gave the Ginger Green tea a taste.  Wow I was shocked.  It was sweet and extremely flavorful.  We ended up trying basically all of the teas there and leaving with several bags.  

The difference about True Honey Teas is that the individual tea bag includes both the dried tea as well as honey.  No mixing or sweetening required.  Simply boil some water, drop in the tea bag, stir and you have an amazing cup of tea.

Over the past year, I have grown to love this tea.  It is always stored in my kitchen and I can quickly make a cup during a work meeting or in the evening.  I’ve also made it for several friends, who are impressed at how delicious it is.

Tea Flavors

To date, I’ve tried the Chai, Lavender Lemonade, Blueberry Green Tea and Ginger Mountain Peak Green.  The Lavender Lemonade is my go-to for summer days.  Although I haven’t tried drinking it iced yet, it still provides a great summer flavor when served hot.  Now that I’m on a search for winter camping and snow for Jasper, I’ve transitioned over to drinking mostly the Chai or Green Tea.

In the Basecamp, I always leave my pot on the stove, as I have no other place to store it.  This makes it very easy to quickly boil up some water, dump it into my mug and throw in a tea bag.  No adding sugar or honey or anything else.  After a letting the tea steep and a quick stir (definitely remember to stir for full flavor), I have a delicious cup of tea.

Conclusion

True Honey teas has turned this non-tea drinker into a huge fan.  For living on the road, these premixed tea bags are extremely easy to use.  The best part is that is supports a small US-based business!
